America!!!

land of the free

overcast 24 °C

Well hello everyone!
im sorry that i dont have any pictures, but i thought that i would update you all on my progress anyway... i shall post up some photos when i get a computer capable (hostels dont have the best computers) So i have left england and headed over to Iceland, where i was for 2 days.
in Iceland i went to the lookout tower thing which is a water tower that looks over all of rekjavik, i went for a drive in the country with these two swiss guys that i met, who wanted to show me some places, so i basically spent the day with them, we also saw the docks where all the fishing boats were and all that sort of stuff. On my last day I went to the Blue Lagoon, which is one of the most famous Icelandic attractions (google it if you want to check it out).
Yesterday I arrived in New York... land of the free, home of the slave... well maybe not slave, but anywho. New York... what can i say... its big and noisey... To be honest i wasnt very impressed, not for the first night anyway. So today i decided to head north on my journey towards Maine, where my summer camp is. This way my trip tomorrow wont be soo long. So that brings me to where i am right now... BOSTON massechutowjsdfjk something-a-rather... havent nutted out the spelling... and i tell you what... Im impressed with the place. the people are super friendly, the city isnt as big as new york, so you dont feel so boxed in and i dont know, the vibe is just totally more to my liking. I wish i had more time here to explore the place, but i guess i can see about dropping in after camp... now i also have a mobile now so i think that mum is really happy about that... It seems that shes missing me a little... oh well.
anyway folks, im going to hit the road as im a little tired and hav decided that i want to watch the Red Socks play on the TV (until i fall asleep)
well take care all, and speak soon

an update on everyones favourite king of kings... ME!!!

sunny 28 °C

Hello everyone!!!
well i hope that you are ready to tune into my latest installment of my trip... I guess i should start by saying that alot has happend since last time. I have now been in Newmarket for a while and have been doing lots of horse related stuff... the town is quite small, so you get to know alot of people. the other thing about it is that we have a bit of a reputation around town as the drunk aussies... without fail we go every day to "the office" to tend to "business". Infact now people dont ask us if we will be in the pub that afternoon, they just ask if we will be at the office a bit later, i guess its a little funny to call it the office as very little work gets done there, so i guess it would be better called the government department...

hard at work in the office...

we have seen some really nice horse studs around the place and some of them have a couple of dollars...

Well last weekend i went on a little bit of a trip... to Germany! I went to see Lena in Gross-Umstadt, or wherever she lives... some little village. hehehe. I had a blast of a time, even though it was only for a couple of days, and we did some cool stuff, we went to Heidelberg and had a picnic in the gardens of the castle, and walked all around the place. sat on the banks of the river and so on. We also went to see Kata and had a total blast hanging out with her. so anyways, here are some photos of my german trip

Budget accommodation in United Kingdom

Read reviews from other Travellerspoint members.

Its all started

im here, in London

sunny 22 °C

Well everyone, its time for my first blog from the road… today I have made it to London England... well the flight over here was really long and crappy… as you would expect.
tube.jpg
Well I made it to my hostel this morning to drop my bags off and then head off for a little bit of sightseeing. I went for a wander down to see st pauls cathedral and have my first English pint…
beer.jpg which of course was rather uncomfortably warm… I guess that I will have to get used to it, well I could be worse. Anyway, I thought that I would bring you up to speed on the hostel front… as I am sure you are all dying to know how the accommodation is staking up… well I can say one thing… budget. Ahha. The showers are pretty dodgey, the partitioning in them is made from coregated iron, the rooms smell a little funny, the only window in my room looks out to a brick wall where pidgeons are making their noise (whatever you call it), the subway isn’t far away, and my room is in the basement, so every ten minutes, you can feel and hear the rumble of the next train rolling down the Piccadilly line, and of course, the bedroom smells a little unsanitary. Yet this is all very cool, I guess that I am either in the honeymoon stage of backpacking, or it all doesn’t matter… I guess that its not really about all that stuff, its about the fact that I am on the road, and it feels really good! At the moment im having a bit of a rest in my room watching a movie and I must report that I am rather tired. Well I think that that’s enough for the first instalment of chris’ beer fuelled world odyssey!
Peace out!!
Chris
